The Lucky Birthday

November 7th, 2015. A very very special day for myself, and my family. It was my dads 60th birthday, and definitely a day to be celebrated! Not only was this a milestone, but also a birthday some of us thought we would never see......

Last year, we almost lost my father. Technically we did, and he actually died 3 times from 3 heart attacks. Back to back to back. After a coma, 2 weeks in intensive care, and a month of therapy, dad pulled through and was back home with us. Knowing how close we were to losing him, and how each day, let alone each year was so precious, we knew this years birthday was something to be really lucky, and blessed to have with him.

We made the day as special for him as we possibly could. The best part was having both of his grand kids there to spend time with him. My son and daughter had such a blast playing with grandpa, as well as running around outside with each other. Though my daughter loves to play hide and seek, she's yet to grasp the concept of tag lol.

(One thing I wanted to include in this post was a really cute video of the kids playing outside, but I'm saving that for a new YouTube channel I'm starting. More on that in a later post.)

Having all of the kids there was great, and they were so cute. Made my dads day so much more special. Trina and Maria were in attendance as well, and we all had a great time!

Later in the evening, Maria, my son and myself played some cards. Maria of course kicked our butts lol. And while we played cards, my girlfriend and I decided to partake in a little something else we both love and have in common:

We had a very good assortment, and it's a good thing we split them. All 6 for one person would be a black out night for sure! But so tasty.

I'm very glad dad had a great birthday, the kids had fun, and overall was just a great day with family and loved ones spending quality time together. The way families are meant to be.

And for having the family I have, I am a very blessed and lucky man.
